AVE was created by a husband-wife team of a software engineer and a veterinary pharmacist in response to a perceived need to simplify access to the OpenFDA database for veterinary adverse events. AVE stands for Adverse Veterinary Events, and is pronounced 'Ava' in honor of our late dog, first baby, and model for our logo.
It is important to us that the service we provide is simple to use, while also providing in-depth breakdowns of the veterinary adverse event data available through the OpenFDA website. We hope that this application can assist veterinary medical professionals and pet owners alike in seeking information to help better the lives of our furry, scaly, and feathery companions.
Please note that the data obtained through AVE is for informational purposes only, and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition in humans or animals. Reporting of veterinary adverse events to the FDA is voluntary, so the data obtained through OpenFDA may not be a full representation of the occurrence of an adverse event, nor does it confirm that an adverse event was caused by a particular drug or substance. Please seek help from a medical professional if you or your pet is experiencing what you believe to be an adverse event.
